Overtime!!!!!
It is that time of year when weover-eat, over-drink, over-stress, over-extend ourselves, and over-commit. It is no wonder that we try to balance that out with the infamous “New YearsResolutions” to bring the pendulum that has swung so far out from the norm, back into a controlled and manageable lifestyle.
So what are the most popular New Years Resolutions? The proverbial: I am going on a diet to lose weight and I will start to exercise. I am going to quite smoking. I will manage my stress better at home and at work. I will become a better person by becoming more spiritual, more social with friends and family, and give back to my community.
Hereis why I think exercise should be the #1 priority on everyones list:
Exercisereduces risk of cancers, increases longevity, builds bones, constructively allows control of stress and anger, helps achieve and maintain weight loss, enhances and elevates mood, lowers blood pressure, improves balance, allows one to manage pain, improves arthritis, clears your mind of clutter, reduces risk of breast cancer by 60%, reduces depression, gives you more energy, gives your body a toned shape, improves digestion, enhances coordination and allows you tolive, love and laugh longer!
Ah,but what kind of exercise is best?
Bottomline: Dao Yin is number One in my opinion. More commonly known as QiGong or Chi Kong or chi gong - there are so many spellings. Even Dr. Mehmet Oz (you have probably seen him on Oprah) agrees with me, as he stated that QiGong is the best form of longevity exercise out there!
Tiger Woods still keeps his QiGong practice in his back packet as hissecret exercise weapon of choice! By the way, Dr. Wayne Dyer of PBS fame, toldme personally that he does my QiGong for Asthma DVD every day at his home in Maui! I met him again at the “You Can Do It” 2007 Conference in Toronto this year. Once I knew that he liked my version of QiGong, I gave Wayne another DVDto give to his friend Ram Das.
So if Dr. Dyer is using my method of QiGong (and hopefully Ram Das), shouldn't you?
Wayne's new book, “Change your Thoughts, Change your Life: Living the Wisdom of theTao” is an interpretation of the Tao Te Ching. Wayne has come full circle toTaoism as his latest explanation of life and the things that matter the most.
Being immersed in Taoism, Ch'an Buddhism and with plenty of catechism behind me, I can speak many different “languages” of the Tao and QiGong exercises.
